In St, Charles, MO but the boats going to Bull Shoals Lake in SW Missouri about an hour from Branson, when I finish building it. My sister has a gorgeous home on the lake and a covered slip that will be home for the boat.

I cannot believe this I have read all of the posts and it appears that I am the only person on this forum from Minnesota "Land of 10,000 Lakes" actually it is over 14,000 but thats irrelivant.

I am from Alexandria, Minnesota it is in west central Minnesota. I have been a boater and a fisherman all my life. I have owned a couple boats but I just bought my first toon on April 12, 2008.

I"ll do that. As soon as the ice leaves the lakes.  It"s getting closer but there is still ice about 20-50 feet from shore now on most lakes.

From the Saginaw Bay Area of Michigan, Bay City to be exact! We spend most of our time on the Saginaw River and around the bay fishing, I wouldn"t eat anything out of these waters  but it makes for a great time of catch and release! We enjoy our vacation time north of here on Otsego Lake.  Can"t wait till it"s vacation time!

I"d enjoy hooking up with you Motoon. However, I was at Bull Shoals last week and it doesn"t look like we"ll be boating there anytime soon! The lake is at record flood levels. It dropped a whooping 2 inches from Tuesday until last Sunday. Table rock looked about as bad when I drove through there too. Oh well, It has to go down eventually, I hope!

Hot Springs Arkansas.  The small subdivision I live in has a private boat ramp to Lake Hamilton just 200ft from my front door.  I also boat on Lake Degray, which is 15 miles away in one direction, and Lake Ouachita, which is 20 miles away in the other direction.  Both are beutiful lakes.  Keep the boat in my back yard and pick which one we want to go to.

We"re from Tiger, GA in Rabun County (as far North & East as you can get in GA!).   Just got a 1987 Landau CastAway 20" w/28 hp Johnson.  Boat is the "Queen Rosemary" and will be berthed on Lake Rosemary in DeFuniak Springs, FL.  This is my first boat and I"m studying up on marine stuff.  After flying C-130"s/Grumman Gulfstream"s as military/FAA pilot and diesel locomotive railroad engineer, I don"t want the "Queen" to get away from me!!

Congrats on the new boat and retirement Ron. It"s kind of nerve racking at first, but before you know it you will be an old salt. Lots of good people and info here to help you get used to it without going it alone. Some pics of your new toon would also be appreciated when you get a chance. Happy boating and welcome..

We live In Overland Park, KS but have a lake house at Lake of the Ozarks.  At present we are going to be selling the city house and move to LOTO, now that I have pretty much retired.

I will say that this was the hardest of forums to join.  But it is all good now.

At present we have a Hurricane Midship 24.  A rather funky looking deckboat.  Anyway, we bought it mainly because of the porta-potti setup as the Bosslady is claustrophobic and the mid-cabin offered the most room.  I also liked the raised center helm station.  Actually not a bad boat, but where we are on the lake, it is way too rough; three to four foot wakes on most summer weekends from the large cruisers.

With the new grandchild, I finally got the approval to go back to a pontoon.  Seems that the porta-potti is no longer a major issue.  This time it will be a 26" triple log unit.  Here in the KC area, we have 3 boat shows all in January and Fenruary, plus another in March at the lake.  So I"ll be making the rounds, finding who will make the best deals.  Don"t need a trailer and my dock has a boat lift.

I guess that I shuld mention that we will be retiring to Lake of the Ozarks with it"s 1,200 miles of shoreline 140 miles of main channel and major arms.  We are seeing more and more triple log toons due to the rough water.

Close, but I live on the Missouri side.  Raytown, MO(suburb of Kansas City, close to Arrowhead Stadium & Royals Stadium).  Grew up on Lake of the Ozarks and just bought my toon from a couple that lives at Lake of the Ozarks, now boating at Pomme De Terre Lake in Central Mo.

I"m in southern Virginia just south of Richmond. Close to Kerr Lake, Lake Chesdin, the James River & about 85 miles from the Atlantic Ocean & the ICWW.  Got back into boating after 35 yrs & love it.

Am retired now & "the boss lady" said we needed a boat. I of course said  Yes Mama.   Got a 16ft bass boat with a 50 hp Johnson & a sweet deal on a 20 ft Riveria Crusier with a 70 hp Johnson that needs to be remodeled. Can"t wait til spring to get it done & start enjoying the water again.

This site has taught me alot & I highly recommend it to anyone that is into pontoon boats. Lots of great people who are willing to hlep out anytime.

VAGent;

I keep my toon in Hopewell, in a slip.  It"s a pain to haul around with the lousy trailer it came with. The slip is SO much more convenient!  See ya around the James!!  I"m most always chasin" catfish ( but almost never catchin" them).

CGbosun,  I"m not familiar with the slips there yet as I am new to boating. I put in mainly at Dutch Gap. Lake Chesdin is not a place I care to much for due to being so shallow in so many places. Hope to see you on the "riva" as soon as the weather warms  up a little. Need to get the bass boat out & do some cat fishing myself.
