Nasty lookin' weather there. Time for a pole barn I'd say.

My canopy is exactly like Charles canopy & I have no way of putting stakes in the ground to secure because I don't want to drill holes in the asphalt so I have mine tied to the pontoon trailer when the wind gets up around here. So far so good but sometimes I think I'm going to have the only "flying pontoon boat" on the east coast. Clap

Glad to hear you made it OK Charles as so many other people lost everything they owned. Since I have visited your home a couple of times I can really understand the concern about storms there. All we got was some hard rain & thunder during the AM hours & it's still raining today. Hope the worse is over for everyone everywhere.

Frame has held up pretty good, darn shame can't find a tarp worth a darn though. Gone through 3 of them now and the winds I've been getting I could replace it 3 times a year. Been 2 or 3 years ago, somebody had put up this weird looking tarp that might work. Think its heavy and it'll let no light in at all, so that's the downside of it. My front legs have spread out some and its held up a lot of weight of water on the top.

I started out with a canopy just like the one Charles has in the pictures above & had the same problems with the tarp. So I ordered a 'sign tarp" that has side pockets in it in order to put galvanized pipe inside them & then tie it down. Very strong once that is done.

I am very pleased with it & it's held up with winds up to 60 MPH gusting to 75 MPH. I added 6' to my canopy frame & I now have a 20X36 canopy. I also installed temporary lights in it that can be bought at most big box stores. It's worked out great for me. I can also add side curtains by ordering more of the tarps & fastening them to the existing canopy frame & close it in completely.

Late yesterday afternoon, the winds picked up to around 40 and then the pouring rain turned into hail the size of quarters. Finally at around 2pm today the skies cleared and sun came out and it heated up to around 82.

Yep, that ain't rain right now, just big chunks of ice coming down like rain.

Tried getting closer without getting pounded. Bear the dog decided he wasn't coming out of his box to see what I was doing LOL, he was hunkered down (hates getting wet)

and the view from the front door wasn't much better as it REALLY starting falling then

Not only heat but dry.  Yards are brown up here.  Mowed once in last three weeks and only to hit the little bit of uneven high stuff.  The lake here is down at least a foot maybe 18 inches.  We'll probably have to move our boat to a dock farther from shore in order to stay in navigable water!!  Cry

Colorado has been very windy and very hot  high 90's to low 100's.  Lots of dark clouds in the sky mostly smoke.  But some rain and lightning clouds as well for a hour or so in the pm.  The walleye and catfish are on a hot bite right now but like kippered salmon with all the ash comming down they probably taste smokey.  Just kiddding.  Fishing is good weather is unfortuantely too hot for me.  Was at the lake yesterday and suburban would not start thought with the heat it was a vapor lock but turned out to be the fuel pump so the grand kid and I were stuck in the middle of no-where for awhile until we got cell phone service.  Much prefer hot weather and sweat to freezing the lower end unit and not being able to  go out onto the water.

Weather sure has been crazy. Got some little cool spells in the middle of summer and then again get some heat waves. Temps here have been low 90's but heat index 100 or close to it. Today its gonna be 99 with the heat index - tomorrow's high is 75 because rain will have prevented the heat up (and cold front coming through) down in TN.
