Got another question, what amps/amps are you running for your stereo setup? And do you have any problems with the amount of charge getting back to the battery/batteries? I'm a stereo nut, my other boat has roughly 5-6 grand of stereo on it. I plan on doing mine up! But i'm worried about how much power the stator will put out. Afraid i might have to back down the stereo system that i was planning on building for it. I had planned on running 4 6.5's and at least 2 6x9's and possibly a set of 6.5's on the outside of the front of the boat. 2 Kicker 10's for subs. Running 2-3 amps one for subs and one for mid's. Depending on what if anything i decide to run off the head unit.

Btw, thinking i'm going to use a little bit of the surfboard idea for a bar and change it up a little bit. Will post pics either way of what i decide to do.

Most outboards will not keep up with any large aftermarket stereos.  The generally accepted method is to have 1-3 dedicated batteries for the stereo, and take them out for charging at the end of the day.

Or incorporate an 2-3 bank onboard charger with a recessed mounted male 110v plug so an extension cord can be ran to it, provided you have access to a receptacle. I am powered by 3 batteries for my system. I have a Kenwood receiver, Pyle amps, Pyle subs, and Alpine speakers. That's my 2 cents on it.
I am running 3 amps. 1 for the 4 rear speakers, 1 for the 4 front speakers, and 1 for the 2 subs. I think total it's somewhere in the 1200 watt range. I bought the deep cycle marine batteries from wally world and they last all day with it cranked up. Running WOT ( approx 26 mph) I can plainly hear and feel my music. I'm sure quite a few others can too but I mainly listen to Country music to reduce the profane language as to minimize those who may be offended.Shocked

It's mostly country coming from my boats as well. I had planned on running at least 2 batteries.Think i'll keep one strictly for starting and maybe for the radio to run a couple speakers without an amp. And run 2 batteries for for the extra stereo equipment. What are good ideas/brands for an onboard charger etc? We have shore power hookups at our boat club on our docks. But the boat will only be left in the water a few times a year over night so recharging every weekend won't be a huge deal. Plus we will be using our other boat as well. Thanks for the replys guys!!

We have honda 1000 quiet generator hooked up to a hard wired in basic 10/30/50 amp battery charger.  when we get to our destination we turn off the motor, turn on the generator and we have constant 10 amp charge going to the battery.  in some situation when we are really cranking we can drop the voltage quicker than the charge but never really been a problem.  we have 3 amps and one small amp for the  stereo deck.  we have just added 2 more subs and 2 more 2 ways and we will be posting pics within 2 weeks , we have a new bar top and a few other add ons.  we have def gone through a few amps and chargers working out the kinks...ha ha  but hey thats what you gotta do be the loudest out there.  looking forward to any of you pics .... cheers!   p.s. i don't know if you know of these honda quiet generators but you can hardly hear them with no music  on.  we have a little access panel for the exhaust , you can not see it or hear it. its great.

Here are some updates:   One year later.  14 mids , 6 subs , 4 amps.  over 2000 watts of amp output.  We would love any feedback.  Happy Boating ....Cheers!!!  April 13th is the next boat parade so stay tuned for videos with the new GoPro attached to Decked Out.

You sure got a COOL looking pontoon. Nice job. Do the fish need ear plugs when you got it "cranked up"? Clap  Be sure to post some pics of the upcoming boat parade. Have FUN!

Looks great!!! I'm almost done with mine. I'll post a some pics up on my build thread and here when i'm all the way done. I'm starting on the bar deal tonight. What height posts did you go with on the bar itself and what size stools did you use. I have a couple posts but they may be to short. They're going to be right at the same hieght as the fence. Though i'm afraid if they're to much past it they'll look goofy as *inappropriate language not permitted*.

Hi, searched on eBay for bar stool tops. It took some time to find something simple like we wanted. The posts are from captain chairs from past boats try boat grave yards or whip out the wallet and hit up west marine. The bracket from stool to post is standard mounting seat bracket screws in to the stool and slides on post. Hope that helps. Cheers

If you get to the point you are draining batteries faster than an onboard charger can keep up with, change over to a converter. This is what all the bowfishing rigs do in order to run trolling motors off batteries all night long. They have to be kept dry, buy an awesome product. http://www.powermaxconverters.com/pm412volt.html
