Well the trolling motor is on. I put it on the side so that it is not in the way. It seems to work ok there but we shall see. Right now I have no plans to move it. The biggest problem is that it hangs off the side of the boat and apparently when I let my son drive the boat when launching he hit the dock with it. Partly my fault because I did not tell him. I did not see any real damage and worked good when we were out so hopefully it is ok. I put a humminbird piranha 197c DI on it the boat with the transducer on the trolling motor. I also have an older pirahna 20 on the back.
I kind of wished I would have maybe gotten the 70# thrust instead of the 54# but i didn't want to have to add more batteries to the boat. The 54# does a good good though and pushes the boat at a decent speed that even Down Imager works. Now it is time to catch a fish on it. Hopefully this weekend if we end up back a brookville lake in indiana if the river is still messed up.

Yeah.  As long as you're not into rafting, slipping, or side docking that should be fine.

With my use it would probably last about 10 minutes.....  LOL

Looks like it may have the optional base plate that allows it to be completely retracted and moved once it is raised and rotated 90 degrees?

Side docking is not a problem as long as you use the other side!Confused Like I said my son found out the hard way!!. I am glad he didn't tear it up. Yea I don't think it would push that 41ftr LOL! I am more into fishing than the other stuff. I went back into a little cove this past weekend and it was surprising how well it maneuvered that 20ft pontoon around the stick up trees.

It does have the quick release on it. I don't use it because i have the transducer on it for my depth finder. It came with it so i figured i would install it anyway. It will come in handy for winter storage though, I will just have to remove the transducer cable also. I got this for about 90$ cheaper than retail since amazon sent it in a tore up package and gave me 20% off.

Do you run with the trolling down when underway or just when in shallow water, docking and fishing etc.

Yea this is mainly for fishing. This has a couple store options. It has a locking ring so you can either have it stand straight up and down or laying flat across the deck. If I am up and running I usually have it lay flat because with my smaller tubes the prop of the TM hits the water in the standing up position. This is the minnkota V2 54# thrust pontoon trolling motor with the 48" shaft. I am going to get the hand held control for it at some point I think but the foot pedal has a long cable which reaches to any part of the boat so it's not a big issue. I am not a fan of the foot pedal though and it is taking me some time to get used to it.

The hardest thing was running the wire for the depth finder on it. I almost ruined my cable because a video i watch on a way to install it, which works for the most part, used a stick on wire tie holder which came off and my transducer cable went down inside the part where the motor flips up. It put a cut in it and made it to the sheathing but did not tear up the inner wire. Luckily the transducer still works but I am going to have to seal that part at some point. That would have been bad because a new transducer would be about a 100$ and i only paid 150$ for the whole finder.

Now I used a bracket and used the original transducer on it. It works fine for what I need. i may get a trolling motor one in the future but right now this was the easiest way to go. If I get a chance i will take pictures of it.

This is the video of how to hook up a transducer and run the cable. It works great but i drilled two small holes in the plastic cover to eliminate the wire tie holder. just hope that did not void my warranty.
