Similar to this but do both sides and pull the trailer out....
Thanks Cuda! On another note, I re-carpeted all my trailer bunks yesterday, and they turned out great. I normally keep the boat in a covered storage yard about a block from the boat ramp I use on Lake Oconee. My original plan was to put the boat in the lake and leave it at the dock, then drive back to the storage spot and do the bunks there with the boat off the trailer. But I decided to give it a whirl in the yard with the boat on the trailer instead. I used a floor jack with a 2x4 standing on top of it to lift the front of a toon. Then put a bottle jack on top of a cement block and lifted the rear of a toon. Snatched out one bunk at a time and recovered them right in the yard. It went really smooth and only took a couple of hours or The way I did mine was to build a support for the back out of 2 patio ties planted in the yard with a 2x lumber pad on top of each one that was carefully aligned to be the height of the stern stringers and catch 3 with the tongue all the way down. I rolled the trailer over this and jacked up the tongue. This lifted the stern off the trailer. Run the tongue up as far as you can get it (blocking the tongue at the top of the jack, adding a block under the jack and going higher). Then I used a 10' 4x4 to support the bow on blocks wider than the trailer so I could lower the tongue and pull the trailer out. (you will need to take off the guide ons) Use another 2x under the toon on top of the 4x4 to spread out the load. |

Well we got back out Saturday! Finally! It was awfully hot so we just went a mile or so to our favorite coved and anchored for 5 hours...
I gave THE FLOATER a good cleaning, she really needed it! Only issue is my horn stopped working... Haven't even hardly used it.... I need to run a jumper straight from the battery to bypass the switch, but I would hope it isn't the switch. I went ahead and opened up the lower unit plug to check for metal shavings luckily there weren't any so I will be messing with the linkage next. The LU oil was black as night and not a sign of milkiness! I will keep you updated. |

Ditto everything Nathan and Tex said.
My horn ceased working our 2nd or 3rd time out. Every now and then my kids get a pathetic honk out of it, but rarely and when they do, I wish they hadn't. |

After my oggahh horn broke...I installed the one I bought from PS and it died as well...I had them facing forward and I think they both just got water logged...I installed a new one facing towards the rear of the boat and it has been working great!!

Jim, that's not necessary. You have been more than generous about returns and standing behind your products with me. I think its like fatdaddy said, it needs to be installed with the opening facing back, especially on a tritoon w/a 150 hp merc run on big water. I'll order and buy another one and install it facing back. If that one dies, well, then maybe I'll take you up on your offer. Thanks

Thanks! Go royals! BTW. An update on the rebuild. My cover was split when I got down to the lake. I believe it is covered under warranty. Waiting to hear back from Jim. Pics are here. http://www.pontoonboatforum.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=8289&PID=81746 |

I received the new cover. I really like the new style! Elastic all the way around and strap positions are a lot better.
My patch job didn't do very well. |

Ok guys need your opinions.
I am tired of replacing my wooden transom. The kids agreed to get me an all aluminum one for xmas. I found a couple nearby but none of them have the dropdown in the end that my current one does that lowers the motor. I think the only reason for this dropdown is for the steering linkage to clear the rub rail. The pics below will help it make sense. The length of the current transom is 6 ft. I found one the same length but straight across at the rear, my thought is to move it back 12 inches. That way my linkage will clear the rub rail. What do you think about the height of my motor as it sits now and when it will be 5 inches higher with the new transom. I will try and post titled pics so it all makes more sense. New one is on the left New one is on the left Under shot of current transom, may need to add a crossbeam to allow for setback of 12" Shows cutout in transom to allow for linkage clearance. When it sags the linkage hits the edge. ![]() shows drop down and motor height. Edited by curtiscapk - 11/13/2014 at 4:33pm |

First question i have is, Will your motor operate Ok 5 inches +_ up/down compared to where it is now. Is yours a 20 inch shaft? I sat my motor back about 18 inches on a new center tube. Ran the steering out the rear of the tube supports ( and though my rub rail). Might consider that which will require a new steering cable (need a new one longer anyway with any significant increased setback). My 2 cents.

Off topic here, but do you mind if I ask where your lot is located. I am guessing somewhere near Cooper Creek, but that is because you mentioned the four wheeling. Oh so many years ago we had a group that would take boats, fourwheelers, and dirt bikes to Berry Bend. We would mix it up with some time on water and other time at Cooper Creek. Reason I'm asking is we are looking for place to set up camper. The boss wants to go to a year round place, but we haven't found anything that we like. So we look and ask others what's out there.
Btw, nice camper cover. We are looking for one for ours.

Welcome aboard Kevin! We are at Twin Oaks in between Lowry City and Iconium on C hiway. The (subdivision) is South of Cooper Creek. Lots are dirt cheap! Its pretty redneck, but you get to ride wheelers on the gravel roads and down to the lake. They have a decent pool, hot tub, and do special events throughout the year. We launch at Talley Bend which is 3 miles away on C. We have 3 lots my brother has 16 across the street. Here is their website. It's rough but you will get the jist of the place. Any questions shoot me a pm.
Check out the lots for sale list. Those are default county tax lots. I have a list of lots for sale by owner which are in better shape but more expensive. We keep everything down there and check on it in the winter every now and then. Hopefully getting down in the next 2 weeks or so.

Thanks a bunch. Went and checked it out. The lady at the office let me go and look and gave me maps and such. I went back again yesterday with the maps and stuff. She was off but I think most had me figured out by then. Put in my bid on place.
