THE FLOATER is going to do more than sit on the trailer this year! She fired up on the 2nd turn of the key!!!! I added a pole for the cover and it seemed to do the trick. I only had about 5 gallons of water total on either side of the bow. It is almost impossible the way the fence is shaped to not have a little pooling there. I got the ski bar mounte. All the vest are on, noodles, rafts, AND CUPHOLDERS! We really wanted to take it out when we started dry boating, but the launch was full of crappie tournament and sponbill snagging boats. We had to burn all the leaves, clean out the trailers and I had to put a new coat of roof paint on the big one. I really hate down and backs to the lake just not enough time to get everything done. I forgot the camera so I didn't get a whole lot of pics either.

We are going down in 2 weeks to put her in!

Thanks man! I am getting closer!

THE FLOATER is ready to go. I was flying solo so did not take her out, but man oh man is she ready!

Started and ran it on the hose 4 different times over the two days. :coffee:coffee (just to make sure after last year) :)

All railing bolts tightened down, seats cleaned using the 303 I got for xmas from my daughter (using the special pontoonstuff.com has on it), seat storage done to my liking... (the kids tried to store everything last time down):roll: both batteries fully charged and I even got the trailer guides on. My camera was acting up and I didn't know the trailer pics didn't take till I got home. I only have one box left from my parts and it has my LED's and cleats that is it! I don't think I will put the windshield on the console though I am still trying to decide? Not sure if we are going to get to take her out before Memorial Day Weekend or not, although The Admiral did mention we didn't have anything going on the 17th...... 8)

I am new to the forum so here goes. The console on my "98" Playcraft is shot so I ordered the same console you installed. I like the look with the steering wheel. Did you have enough room inside the console to work? I'm worried about having to squeeze into the console to mount the steering helm. Also was it a pain to cut a hole for the gauges? I'm gonna use my old steering helm and gauges. Just within for delivery on the console.

I used my old gauges as well. Just make sure and have some hole saws. I used a 2 inch I think for the smaller ones and did multiple 1 inchers for the steering wheel and tach holes. I am 6 ft 160 I could squeeze in there it wasn't the best but after I while I got used to it. You could always make an access hatch in the front and trim it out if you needed to.

Check your PM's.

Yea I'll just have to wait and see how tight it's gonna be. I just got my new binnacle mount throttle control but I still need to order a steering wheel. I'm gonna be a copycat and order a wheel like yours. It looks really good. We decided not to get all new furniture, we're just gonna have the seat cushions reupholstered, the seat backs are still in really good shape.

I love the steering wheel. Can't wait for Saturday! A year and a half wait is a long time to not be on the water!

Congrats on your completed work, she's looking good, I hope your return to the water is as good as The Floater looks. I've got a lot done on mine over the last weekend and down to the fine details of reconecting checking, setting up and checking again. Still need to correct a sway back trailer. If all goes well Saturday is my target day for our maiden voyage.

Woooooooooooooooh hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooow! :nana :nana :nana 3:39 Saturday launch damn rain! It was fantastic though! We were out for 3 hours Saturday and way over 6 on Sunday. Man what a day! Coming in on Saturday as I was jockeying to load on the trailer my left turns started jamming OH NO! Brand new transom cracked on the outside board what the *inappropriate language not permitted*, 3 hours and bad! Admiral was ready to pack it in forever! Well I couldn't have done it without my guests and my bro and his bro inlaw, but we replaced that transom in 5 hours! Thank god for my scrap PS plywood! :nana :nana :nana Trying to heft a 500+ pound motor on the fly was interesting but we did it. I actually lowered where I drilled the hole for the top bolt seemed to work fine on Sunday. Made a 54 mile round trip to the closest REAL beach at my arm of the lake. After I pulled up to the beach another toon pulls up and hollers CRAIG! Capt Redbeard! Kenneth spotted THE FLOATER and followed me in. It was great meeting him and his toon looks great that thing was set up for everything! He even had a playpen on it and the kids were sound asleep with all the beach commotion. The best part was my grandaughter was saying there was no way she would ever get on the tube, well my wonderful daughter talked her into it "really slow papa and no turns!".... :alright :alright :alright Then she went with her mom and let me go faster and start swinging her a little, I can't wait till next trip. The new load guides from PS were fantastic! one shot and on! :nana Sunday we had to use our backs and bump it over 2 inches, but we were loading 2 wide which we have never done before. Thanks for everyones help! What a relief I was letting out woops the whole weekend. The only bummer was no speed gain. I hear water in the toons but haven't addressed it. I hit 20 with 9 people and 18 with 11. Not complaining just hoping for more. On the way back on Sunday everyone was out except me that made me smile as a successful trip. BTW the cooler flip flop is awesome holds way over 100 beverages to start the day.... :drink4 :drink4 :drink4 The slope were I park the toon is perfect for the drain, unplug it and drains right under the rail! Here are some quick pics

Thanks to all for their help!

Well we got it out again Most of the kids and my daughters best friend and her husband and baby. BUT reverse is acting up. Loading up the last time out it started chattering when I put it into reverse. There wasn't the usually hookup you like to hear. I tested it on the hose when we got back and it sounded fine. So the minute its backed into the lake it starts to chatter again when put into reverse! Admiral was getting ticked and I said we don't NEED reverse! I got out onto the trailer and in 2 tries of backing and braking and me pushing she slid right off. Forward works fine. We made it work all day without reverse. I didn't want to jack with it on the water so I still need to look at it as I ran out of time before we headed back home on Sunday. Here are some pics though. We ended up beaching for almost 3 hours and for the last hour we had a bald eagle land in a tree 70 yards away. He stayed there the whole time. I was able to get within 30 yards for a great picture!

So what do you guys think? Remember this LU is a used one I bought 3 years ago so one full season as I was out of commission all of last year. I am going to check the linkage first as it may have gotten jacked when we were man handling the motor on Memorial day weekend.

Really nice pics! Looks like entire family(or those that were there) had a ball.

Hope the problem is minor. Sometimes the shift linkage adjustment can cause an incomplete shift, causing the chatter. Not a mechanic mind you, but in a previous life    I had to deal with a lot of outboard motors and their kinks. I miss seeing the eagles when I would go north.

We are in southeast Texas, not far from Beaumont. Probably a two hour drive from Surfside. Holler if you come this way.

I'm zero help on the reverse issue, but wanted to say great picks. Glad to see someone's enjoying their boat.
I may finally get mine wet this week.
Fingers crossed
