That is gonna be your best investment for a long time. Screwing with wiring is not fun.

Thanks Kyle@ I sure am hoping it will solve the issue. I would be much more worried if it hadn't ran so dang well for those 15 minutes after replacing the stator and VR.

Well bad news... After a couple (4 hours) we finally got the motor to crank. Ended up being a loose connection at the main plug at the motor. However it still wouldn't fire. There is no spark which just doesn't make any sense to me since it ran great for 15 minutes the last time. Needless to say we are very frustrated! The admiral more so than me. I am through trying to figure it out on my own. The mechanic that rebuilt my motor said he would diagnose the electrical for 30 bucks, which is a great deal but right now we just don't have the money to get it going. In my opinion (which appherently isn't very good) it is probably the switch box...another $250 which we just don't have right now after everything we have already done.. The Admiral is throwing around the s word (sell the damn thing) I told her we can't sell it! and man did that open up another can of worms...
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We have vacation in 3 weeks and my Step daughters wedding in Oct. So maybe next year... Frustrated and dissapointed...Maybe an update later.

You probably already have... but .... have you checked your safety switch (if it has one). Ask me how I know ... *grin* Mine is not under the key. Mine is a switch @ the throttle control with a lanyard. Lanyard got pulled off but switch was still in the off position. Also, another time, found a blown fuse under the engine cover (actually my son found it). Good luck. I know it's frustrating. |

I did just find a switch box for 110 on ebay so we will see, it's doubtful I can talk the Admiral into it yet....

OK, gotcha. I believe this is also referred to on other makes as a CDI box (power pack). I had never heard the term switch box. I'm no mechanic, but I can tell you that intermittent spark is a sure sign of a bad CDI. I went through the same thing on a Suzuki 200. If that IS the problem, just be glad you can get a replacement. They quit making them for the Suzi I had, and the only used one I could fine was $400, with NO WARRANTY

Still sitting.... Hopefully we will have a couple hundred left over from vacation in 2 weeks I can put to it. But with my step daughters wedding in Oct. maybe not.... The Admiral is pretty bummed... of course she is blaming it on rebuild.
![]() ![]() THE FLOATER may be sitting till next year. We did get down to the lake to sit on the bank and my bro brought his toon by for awhile. The boys got to get some four wheeling time in as well. Maybe I can find some buried treasure on the beach and get her going for labor day! ![]() Thanks for asking Ty! You have been a huge help!

Good luck on the switch box. I just read through your wiring dilema and I feel your frustration. Hopefully it is all going to end soon and you can take it for a spin. Enjoying your rebuild, thanks for sharing!

Well THE FLOATER is put to winter rest....
![]() ![]() There as been a tree that has had a lean toward the toon since we got the place well I had had enough and finally cut it down. Man I feel better about that! ![]() I Magic erasered the seats then 303 protectorant, dryer sheets at every seat cushion corner and a bucket of charcoal, lets hope she looks as good in the spring. ONe thing I realized is I have seen some of you lift up your seats... how many lift them up or leave them down? No more updates till next year....DAMN! Except for the sundeck I brought home to recarpet.... Thanks for all your guys' help and well wishes! We will hit the water next year! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited by curtiscapk - 10/30/2013 at 4:50pm |
