Set out to fish around a shipwreck in galvaston bay called the SS. Selma in hopes of landing some 40# bull reds. We launched the boat about 9:00am and immediately had a school of dolphins jumping within 2' of my boat (awesome) as we made our way to the shipwreck the water was very rough with about 4' seas, I just took it really slow and we made it no problem with the exception of taking a ton of water over the bow several times. Once we got to the Selma we anchored on the side that blocked the wind and it was nice. We ate lunch on the boat and spent the day on the water. We didn't catch any reds but within the last hour we had 5 good hookups that where sharks and got 3 in. My wife had the best fight with hers, she had a very light set up she was catching bait with and a 15# black tip got on it it was awesome, I also have her on video on my cell phone but don't know how to upload it, is someone wants to I can text it to you or maybe email it!!!! PICS PICS PICS

Here's the dolphins by the ramp

Big ol ship passing us up

Ariving at the ship wreck

Getting anchored notice the Disney cruise ship heading out in the back ground

The bigger white boat is a big party boat that takes about 100ppl at a time fishing

Here's the stern of the ship wreck, notice the Jon boat closest to me it's about 18' and was loaded down

Here's another cruise ship heading out

Here's my shark

Here's my wifes, she wasn't to excited about holding it

Here's our friends

All in all it was an awesome day!

Great pics and it looks like it was a fine day. That old wreck looks cool and appears to be real popular. Bet that was a good fight with the light tackle. Thanks for sharing..Thumbs Up

The jetties are the place to be in this area but when the wind is kicked up like it was this is the next best thing and is a lot safer....it was an awesome fight indeed, we're talking 6lb test line and a catfish leader. It's a wonder the shark diddent bite the line into. It was pulling drag like crazy and running all over the place, I was a proud husband for sure

She is braver than I am. I will swim with them but I won't touch one out of the water. That's awesome being able to fish saltwater out of your toon. Looks like yall had a blast and did good landing them without getting your lines cut.

Thanks, I'd rather be in saltwater all the time but it cost a lot more for me to go to the bay/gulf over the lake. I'm about 10mins from the lake and about 45min from the bay, and since I'm on the highway and there's several big bridges to cross on the way my truck drinks the gas pretty bad. For an example I filled up my truck $85 and boat $50 Friday night and Saturday night I put another $75 bucks in the truck...and this is just gas still got food drinks and bait! Anyway off my soap box now, maybe I can get that new diesel truck I've been eyeballing soon!

That looks like a great trip. I've caught a couple of sharks about that size here in Lake Ponchartrain but I sure didn't take them out of the water and hold them!  Those teeth made a believer out me very quickly.

Wow, that's pretty good bringing them in on 6lb test line! My wife, daughter, and I got caught out in a lake with 3 to 4 foot wakes, and when one came over the bow it scared us to death. It felt as if the boat went vertically, and the water soaked everything on the deck. (very scary!)

The water was very rough and I'll admit I did pucker up once or twice but it wasn't that bad since we weren't in a big storm or anything the wind was just up! We would get about 15 big swells in a row then have a slack for a few waves, if I hit them head on I would ride the first wave up and over and the next one would flood the deck, no problem since it quickly ran off. I started hitting the big waves at a slight angle and it stopped the water from coming over. But as soon as we got to the ship wreck we anchored out of the wind and it was calm! FUN DAY
