New to the Pontoon community what is the purpose of the eyes on the front of the logs, surely you don't want to winch on them

I have seen shops hang the entire pontoon off the ground from these front eyes, while resurfacing/painting/patching holes. It dont look good, but have seen it many times. One 24 foot Tri-Toon was hanging 3 foot off the floor while they painted on a protective coating the entire length of the toons...
