After looking for over a month I finally found pontoon that I think will work for me. It's a1991 Suncruiser w/25hp Evinrude. 16' pontoons w/ 14' deck & believe it not a "tilt steering wheel. My first question; the motor runs like a "pickle seeder" what would it be worth? The motor has been repainted { not a real good paint job & the prop has some nice dings in it, but it starts every time.} Also, I'm planning on putting a 60HP 4 stroke on the boat as I've always thought, " too much horse power is JUST right !" Oh, did I mention I like to go fast ?? My first thing is to clean the toons, "nasty, the build up of I guess lime is terrible. What do I use? I don't mind a little elbow grease. I've got a million other things but my wife just called me. GOTTA GO !!!!

what is the diameter of the logs? Is there a coast guard plate? 60hp may be to big for that pontoon. As for speed that will never happen I have a 21 foot and it is rated for a 90hp which I have it is a 2015 top speed 24mph.

Use this stuff from Napa, spray it on, let it sit for a couple of minutes then spray off.  It took me one whole gallon, plus a 32oz spray bottle of it to do all of mine.  But I was very generous with it and I have a 22' pontoon.

Thanks for the replies !18" logs. I will be using this to fish & probably not have over 3 other people on it. I was wondering about too much power. I've built a few street rods & always put in big engines. I guess I need to get over that. The lgs have got a "crust " on them. I've used the Toonbright & that helped. I'll make a trip to NAPA this am & try that stuff. I heard of something after you clean them that you wipe on & it protects them from discoloring for up to a year. Is that true? The reason I went with that small of a boat was we go to Florida for the winter. The marina where we stay has an abundance of wet slips for 18' & a 2 yr wait for 20 footers & over.
