Don"t think I"ve ever posted any pics of my boat before, so here"s a few. Somebody asked about the electric winch"s I have. I had already taken the anchor panels/covers off so just a bare stand wood stand now (ugly mode). As you can see,  I have two depth finders, one on the console, other up front on the bow section starboard side (transducer mounts to bottom of trolling motor), both front chairs are power air pedestals, trolling motor is wireless. On the console left side you can see the Trac anchor switches (pretty big) in front of the VHF radio. You"ll also notice on the trailer stand, that"s an elecric winch there as well, rated dead pull of 3000 lbs, comes with 25ft of remote cable and switch. I"ll be mounting a battery on the new trailer to supply juice, so I won"t have to have the wife open the hood to connect it up (too heavy for her to lift).

Thought I'd update my boat photo's after seeing what it look like originally here

I"ve not had any real problems with mine, its not the best, but it was on sale for $59 last year, so I bought 3 of them, 2 on the pontoon (console and starboard bow trolling motor mount) and one for the jon boat also trolling motor mounted. I would love to get a couple or so of the $200+ class with bigger screens as my eyes are not what they use to be

There ya go, you caught me just in time so it"s just sitting up there now with one lag screw holding it , but that"s where it was, just 2 inches past any object on the downward travel, on the way up, I just ease it up to slow down the swing so it doesn"t knock off my transducer from the end of the toon.

Here is mine:

These are pictures of how it was when I bought it. I am in the process of cleaning the toons and hopefully just cleaning the carpet for this year. Maybe put in new next year. The floor is solid so I am not too worried about it this year.
Here is a view of the inside. Lots of room to make my own decision where I want chairs etc.

This is what I"m using now, works really well as long as it isn"t really strong winds, and has a pretty darn good mount (in my opinion) http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=45229&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults - Bass Pro Reel Shade Umbrella

Nice camping enclosure. Foreclosure ehh, humm, I might want to check into that, maybe I can get a motor that way - naaa, I better stay with the idea of a new motor.

You know, something about that boat makes me really like it and I think its the headlights (docking lights). I"d love to have a set like that mounted on my fence as I don"t even have the room on the bottom of the fence like yours. You"ve got enough for PontoonStuff"s type where as I don"t have an inch sticking out. My navigation lights sit on the corner caps

Thanks Wildcat for the complment. We have been very happy with our boat. We spent months looking at used tunes when we gave up and ordered this one. Back at that time we did not realize so many parts were avl. Otherwise we probably would have bought well used and remodeled. But we can"t complain we have what we wanted. As you can see the front seats fold out to make a double bed. And the back bunk makes a confortable bed also. We have spent several nights out on the tune. And if the weather is good it doesn"t get any better. As for those headlight buckets. They proved to be my first education on wakes. Something about costly a costly experance that makes it well learned doesn"t it. A lesson well learned and nobody harmed, though somewhat wet.

So are those light kits by Odyssey or somebody else? I didn"t see that style on the one Odyssey boat site.

Posted By: Bamby
Date Posted: 06/29/2008 at 7:57pm

Yes they were factory lights that came with boat. When we had our education we had to order them through a dealer. Forest River (Odyssey) would not sell them direct. So you might have some luck with parent firm. When we got ours wife made or dealer a mistake and I end up with two. Dealer talked me into keeping the spare.  He said items like the light kit have a habit of becoming obsolete. Can"t say he may have been right but I can do without another education. P.S. they are reversable will fit eather side just switch lights.

Man, 2 BIG ole remote spotlights on top (I"m assuming they are remote controlled), they remind me of the one I had on a patrol car back in 1979. What is the motor you"ve got on that baby? and just noticed the big lights on the bow too and I see an anchor davit on the starboard bow, but no anchor in it. You can sure tell how low it sits in the aft section

These are few pics taken last week on the Mississippi. We actually had a couple of nice days where the temps hit low to mid 70s and hopefully no rain. The PS pontoon cover has now about 300 miles on it and is holding up great. The cot tent I have really works out great the way it fits in the boat. I can also fit one more on the front end when I remove the fishing seats. I can fish into the night where ever and don"t have to worry about going back to the tent or cabin. Just anchor or tie-up and crawl into the tent. I will try to get more pics this summer when we travel.

That"s for sure! I really like how different they are when folks add their own touches.  When I covered offshore performance boats for examiner.com, I was amazed at how every owner told me how they wanted their boat to be unique, but they all seemed to be a lot more alike than unique.  Not so with toons!

My wife me told me back when I said I DO that really meant I would DO everything she said whenever she said for me to do something. Not too sure now after 32 yrs of marriage I actually agreed to that but something must be working after all these years. I told her I didn"t remember saying that at all & she said yes I did & the certificate hanging on the wall proved it.

I just tell her what I"m doing to the boat is for HER enjoyment & that"s the end of the it.

Yeah same here Charles. The 5 yrs I WASTED taught me there were much better things in life & a much better person to SHARE them with. Don"t forget its was HER (wife) after all the kids were grown & out on their own that told me WE NEED A BOAT!!  Well..............................she has HER boat if I ever get it finished.

Its 100 degrees here today with temps to go to 101 tomorrow & 105 on Saturday.  but I"m working on it just the same. SLOWLY but I"m working.

I"ve just finished painting the last fence panel & the paint it being BAKED on as I write. HER boat along with my daughter being CAPTAIN is going along pretty good right. I"ll post some pictures in my rebuild section.

Joined the forum about a month ago and just now got around to posting. She is a 2001 Voyager 18 sport with a Merc 60. We hang out at Canyon lake just north of San Antonio TX. We have not been fishing yet, but I do plan on taking her out to the bay in Corpus Christi at some point to do some trout and red fishing. I have added a slide out ladder to the front, swing away hitch, so she can fit in a normal size storage, new sound system with XM radio, and a table from Pontoonstuff. Got lucky and found  great deals on my BBQ pit and ski vest on craigslist! I have been lucky not having many problems. I had an issue with ethanol residue clogging my fuel line, but have resolved it and we have been problem free on our outings since. Have been boating my whole life, but have been without a boat for the last 2 years, so I was very excited to get this one! Have gotten some great tips as well as seeing some killer toons on here, so thanks everyone!

Thanks. That is my anchor rope, the boat had an electric winch when I got it. I am not crazy about it being right in front next to the ladder, but it works. I am really happy with the ladder, the same company made my motorcyle carrier "motobatteries". It was much less then the other ladders I found and is built really well.

Since I went to a checklist, it has improved maritial relations (not THAT kind) and reduced the return trips for the tackle box/cooler/PFDs/boat keys, etc.

I recommend them, since i have CRS anyway. CRS = Can"t Remember Squat

Ahhh so that"s whats my problem called . Gotta start doing that, left the tackle box home on the last trip - real bummer. You know, I didn"t think I liked red on a pontoon boat, but after looking at it again, its not bad with white mixed in. Now on a car, I love candy apple red on the "right" car. This is a 2004 Voyager, titled as a 23 ft, but really a special built 27 foot. The title from Texas will state 27 foot as I had it inspected by a wildlife officer.  Special Built for the Voyager dealer, twin Honda 150 four strokes, runs 60 MPH.  They had twin 225's for a speed run, 90 mph, but started walking on rear of toons.  They installed the 150's and it is nice. They kept it until last summer when I purchased, as first retail purchaser I got 5 year warranty on motors.  Cant hear them run. It takes any rough water as smooth as glass.  You can go over big cruiser wakes 4 ft tall at full speed and still like glass.  Get over 4 MPG at 30 MPH.
I love it but down sizing this spring so I can build my new lake house.  See current rebuild section for what I am building.

You go by what the manufacturer has stated on their tag, not what some wildlife officer thinks it is. If it was specially built, the manufacturer would have indicated that on their tag or title paperwork. Now if the dealer changed out the toons for longer ones, then they should have put in the paperwork to have the title admended/altered. Do the texas wildlife officers make the determination of what a title should reflect?  By the way do my eyes deceive me again? Wink  or do I see 2 motors on the toons, or one is the main motor and the other one is a kicker motor (seems awful big for a kicker) unless you're offshore (salty) fishing then I could see having it.

Nice looking boat there , it looks fast on the trailer !!!  Three hundred ponies sounds like enough to me. I think 450 h.p. is a bit much for a toon. I don't know where you could really need the extra 150 h.p. unless your trying to get your fuel guage to go faster than the boatLOL

Voyager put the 23 foot tag on as it is a standard model and the center console and fence are what comes on that model and the standard model measures 23 feet and this one measures 27 ft 9 inches so the wildlife officer said it will be shown to be a 27 foot on the new Texas title.   YES two 150 HP honda motors.
It hits 60 MPH in a flash, actually running 6200 at WOT so I am going to prop up to get it down to 5800 or less and maybe even more speed but less hole shot.

Doin 60 mph and hitting some of them big Texas mosquitoes would probably hurt a little.LOL I would hate to pay the gas bill if it gets 4 mpg at 30mph, but it's definitely a nice lookin toon!

WOW, sharp boat!
Personally I have only gone 60mph on a PWC. A boat that big would be awesome but I couldn't afford the gas.
I assume it has 3 logs........

The average pontoon boots only get 2-3 MPG.Shocked....so this one getting 4 MPG is SUPER.

I have ran the entire length of Lake Travis and back on my tanks, that's a 176 mile round trip, plus extra miles for running into quite coves for swimming, fishing and eating or a total on my GPS of 192 miles.  This is a one day trip avg over 30 MPH and running 50 Plus lots of the time.   I have two tanks 30 gallons each and I still had 1/4 tank in each left.   I pontoon with a 50 HP will burn twice as much fuel.

Shocked This is the most gorgous boat I have ever seen! I can`t imagine the labor that went into this. You must be so proud of it. Wood is my favorite material, I love the smell of it. We`ve had aluminitus for the past couple years and fully restored a 62 Airstream. Aluminum will never beat the look and feel of wood though. Hats off! Can`t say enough about it. Susan. Guess I still don`t Have the knack of posting yet LOL. This post was about the awesome WOODEN boat that I saw.

Mine??? I'm flattered, as there are so many others like scbadiver's I enjoy looking at. I'm always impressed with those that take junk and make jewels out of them. It don't take much for me to start drooling over the others rebuilds LOL  Lots of GREAT ideas there. But post in the off topic section of what your problem is with you unable to post pics. Explain exactly the error message or problems you encounter, we'll help you through it and point you in the right direction, in fact that welcome letter we sent, has links to the most common suggestions.

Since 1996 this Misty Harbor 24' SkiToon has been our main ride. I was ready to rebuild her with new upholstery and a new 4 stroke engine but the other half had other ideas. She instructed me to look for a new toon and I always do what she instructs.

After a lot of looking we decided on a 2012 G3 LX 322SE with a VF225 Yamaha engine. I wanted performance similar to the SkiToon, able to pull slalom skiers including my oversized body, be good as a cruiser and a lake float platform. There are a lot of great boats out there but we felt the G3 was the best boat for our needs.

I had never heard of G3 until I did a google search for pontoon manufacturers and they popped up. Since they were owned and backed by Yamaha, they were worth a look.  Went to take a test run on one with a 150hp and one with a 225. The 150hp did fine but the 225 was what we decided on. Ann at Paradise Cove Marina was was great to work with and met all our expectations. We were treated great and feel we received a fair package.

We have had the LX for three weeks and it meets our expectations. I am trying to be good and break it in correctly but did a short run to 50mph GPS at 5400 RPm's, so it will do what we wanted.  It came standard with three lounge benches, a captains seat that swivels, Tilt wheel, Sony radio with ipod input center log storage, strakes , ski pole, custom cover, Garmin depth and temp, fish finder, deluxe Bear trailer, cooler, changing enclosure  and table. We went with the SE (new in 2012) because it had an arrangement we liked.

The VF225 is very quiet awith little vibration. I would not hesitate to get a Suzuki again because the previous one was run very hard for 16 years and didn't miss a lick. Since G3 is a Yamaha company we had a choice of engines between a Yamaha or a Yamaha.

Greetings Pontoon Forum!

I'm a brand new owner... no previous pontoon experience, and limited other boating experience.  Wife and I retired to TN and got this to go out on the river.  Its a Sunchaser DS22 with Yamaha 90.

I'm glad to see that many of you are into fishing as I have lots of questions about fish finders and the set ups you have for your anchors.

Glad to met y'all!

Sparky

I just got a misty harbor pontoon and I agree they look like they are well made.  Mine is the short one a 1997 with a 2004 4stroke 50 merc.  Have not been able to get it on the water because the lakes are mostly mud and too darn low.  Wish I had taken pics of some of the other pontoons I had in the past.  Especially the one with picnic tables.  We used to get a bucket of chicken and a jug of rootbeer and head for an evening picnic on the lake.   Wink

Keystone lake West of Tulsa is about 4 feet low per the Corp of Engineers but its more like 10 ft. low from where it normally stays.  Skiatook is 7 1/2 ft. low.  So not too bad.

My Party Hut that I recently bought as pictured below.  It's currently berthed in the Oxbow Marina at the Sacramento Deleta.  I'm currently fabricating a "Bow Thruster" to make it easier to get it into my slip during those very windy days.

We launch at Osage Bluff, Truman Lake. Love fishing around KK Island. Beautiful part of the lake. The marina there is small but adequate. Friendly people there. One of the last available ramps during high water like last year.
They also put on a huge.....I mean huge fireworks display for the 4th of July every year.
