I'm restoring a 1989 24ft Grumman. It's been sitting with dried green/gray algae for 8 years. It comes off with steel wool and elbow grease. Is this a good reason to buy a gas powered pressure washer or is that too much tool for the job?

A pressure washer will make it easier. But why don't you look to rent one or see if a neighbor has one. I use a pressure washer to clean my siding and other things around my cottage. so it was worth it for me to but one when it was sale.

Yeah, I have plenty of siding, concrete, etc to use it on to justify the expense. I was more concerned that it could blow a hole in the aluminum.

I never blow a hole in mine. Just make sure you use a fan pattern and not pin point.
