I"m in to tearing out all the wood and total rebuild 1994 godfrey sweetwater 20' fish and toon.  I notice my deck trim has a channel the wood and carpet must fit into  It's so tight I hope to pull off without ruining whats there.  Wood appears to be 3/4 (measured on the dryess most intact area), but I don't know how much it has swelled.  So this rules out any thick carpet or vinyl.  Just hoping someone has been through this and can recommend plywood thickness and carpet thickness and any tricks I should know.   Was planning on buying wood from pontoonstuff but if I need to go to smaller thickness then need to find alternative source because no one around here has 3/4 marine in CCA.

Thanks in advance.
