I'm actually thinking I can start buttoning it up this weekend with my helpers getting the rub rails back on. Wife wants me to hold off doing surgery on the elbow until 10/21 so she can keep an eye on me while I'm doped up (I don't take well to that stuff). By then we'll be done with our fishing and I'll heal up before fishing with darrklim2 up in MN in December. So I think by this time next week, I'll be changing this puppy to DONE (as it'll be minor stuff Bo and Susan will help with).

that's the one, but so far no suitable dealer network outside the pontoon manufacturers. Hoping it'll change next year

With all the manufacturers that offer them now, you'd think they would want to sell to individuals. But it doesn't look like it from search results. I remember a guy a year or two ago that was nearing completion for his own power Bimini patent, but he seems to have dropped it. Hopefully someone will take up the slack. They are a great idea and if I recall, it was around 2 grand for the one I saw.

ouch, that's a little more than I'm wanting to chuck although I definitely like the 12ft. I was hoping closer to a grand would do it.

Finally got tired of lazing around, so finished mounting the underwater lights, now time to finish up wiring them in and take pics tonight of how they look. Waiting on friend this afternoon (I hope) to help mount those rub rails back on. Can't believe I can't mount the glovebox. Locked the thing and now don't know what I did with the keys LOL. Gotta remount the bimini too.

Are you about ready to hit the water? Might try some various other keys on the glovebox. Sometimes they don't take much to open..

I'm looking forward to seeing those underwater led's! I've been wanting a set for mine but there is so many things I need more (like seats) that are gonna kill my wallet once I pull the trigger on them!! Did you mount the led's on the transom???

Not on the wood piece itself (where the motor sits), but along both sides of the V pod. I didn't get around to hooking up the wires yet, I will tomorrow, spent rest of the day doing electrical on the house and then used Abby and Chloe to help clean, and we were almost done with the rub rails when my buddy and his son come over to help. He sure was envious of my Fish and Ski boat deal LOL. We finished the rub rails and later this week we'll mount the bimini top back on. I'll get pics of the lights tomorrow (both daylight and dark).

Best 2 workers I've got, Chloe 6 in front and Abby 13 behind her. Abby catches on really quick and a really hard worker. Chloe more interested in having fun. But they both got wet during the cleaning of the rub rails. Abby figured out she could tilt the power washer machine up and it sprays a fine mist of water on her sister, but she made the mistake of thinking she could get me wet, but hadn't figured on me defending myself with the wand LOL, but I didn't soak her as bad as she soaked her sister. Abby is far better worker than Angel (16) (who tends to be lazy and gotta explain everything). So I'm intending on getting the boat wet this weekend without fail as surgery on the elbow will be the following week.

At long last, my project is almost done. Underwater lights connected and tested, corner caps are on, nav lights reconnected. Little more wiring in the console area, still need storage boxes up front (and associated lights etc in them). Going this weekend regardless. MrToler, heres pics of those underwater lights  and I took both light and unlit.

Pic of the two reds (pair on each side, set pointing down, set pointing out) took this one with flash so to minimize the red glare as you'll see in the next pic.

Ahh yes, almost done. Got the electric anchor switches wired up and tested. GPS/Fisherfinder wired and tested. Just need to wire the GPS leads to the Merc Smartmonitor. Need to clean up underneath the toon and install the dimmer switch for the gauges. Might tackle the storage boxes again for the bow section. Gotta get the boat clean now. Dog sure made a mess. Few other odds and ends ohh almost forgot the bimini.

Went shopping at the L box store and found some stuff that should help finish up my project. Got some of these cable ties to use as that'll let me tie up more wires than grommets can, and some flexible conduit called cordhider (couldn't find it on ANY website or the box store's website, but did find the accessory pack - weird). It lets you cut to length, form it around the wire (has 4 sides, one side has peel and stick strip) and comes in white or almond. This will solve my problem of the courtesy lights on the rails with the wire running down and through the floor and it matches the color of the fence. Hoping the stickie sticks over the long run LOL but got another idea if it don't, just make a hole through the fence and plastic for a rivit. Not much on TV tonight, so probably be working to finish the toon tonight.

Whoa...Just the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee in game 3 of the playoffs.Big smile But I guess if you're not from around one of those places it doesn't matter.Smile Sounds like what you got for the wiring is for "on the wall" wiring. And those cable ties are great. Zip the wiring up and you can fasten the tie up with a screw..

Yeah, not much into baseball if the Braves don't do it, and I didn't watch them much this year. More interested in working on the toon than watching I guess LOL. Don't know what I'm gonna do to upgrade any more, other than I've got my eye on a power bimini top for next fall and there's a power cover for a toon too.

Not yet, probably Friday morning before we head out. It was tested at BPS but I myself haven't fired it up yet. (just dying to though) LOL. Well I probably got 99% of this thing done now. Labeled my switches so I know what goes where, finished off the anchor davits, installed the dash dimmer switch and etc.

Yeah, had to play with the GPS fishfinder, wanted to test the smartgauge hookup to the GPS.

In the lower left corner of the pic above, you can see the dimmer switch.

Sorry about the focus, but here's the gauges bright before dimming them and below is them dimmed to almost turned off.

Had to turn off all the lights, camera is very sensitive, but hard to focus (automatic doesn't like the dark too well) LOL. So tomorrow is cleaning off the boat (70% chance of rain), buttoning up wiring underneath the deck. Then Friday take it to the car wash to give it a good cleaning then fill the tank with gas and put the muffs on. Then Friday afternoon we head to Scottsboro, AL for our maiden voyage with new motor on Saturday (breaking it in all day Big smile)

Wow this is the end of an era ! I have been watching your rebuild start to finish since I joined this site. Glad to hear your ready to hit the water though. I can't beleive you haven't even fired up the new merc ! If I had one I think I would just sit and listen to it run on the hose l.o.l. Can't wait to see some pics of the boat back on the water !!! Oh and I love all the lights Clap

Its all looking good.  I like the dimmer switch.  Sure makes a difference on the gauges.  I gotta put one in on my toon this winter.    But, and I hate to say this, there is another upgrade!!!! Wink

True true and with me its never done (done) and I'm sure it never is with anybody, you'll always want to make improvements LOL. But I sure am glad that the major stuff is truly done. FINALLY at long last my brain kicked into gear regarding the storage boxes up front. Finally thought how I wanted my boxes done and how to attach them (many a sleepless night thinking about my all thumbs) LOL. I thought I had plenty of azek left but alas I don't so back to the L box store again after I just got the hardware that'll do the job. May just do one box for now. I've got plenty of 3/4in cca ply but don't want to use it, I'd rather use thinner 1/2in, so this may just be temporary until I can get the right material I want for permanent boxes.
