What's up guys!   I'm excited to document my pontoon rebuild to the ultimate flathead catfish rig!

The layout is going to emulate the awesome $56,000 angler Qwest catfish edition (see below).

My goals are to have this up and running for next spring's tournament, so watch as I get things rolling.

I'm starting with a 22' 2000 Crest with good bones.   I found one with a 2013 Suzuki motor with only 45 hours!  The Pontoons are of high quality design, and the trailer is new as well.  However, the top side is completely trashed!

Here's the dream layout; Angler Qwest!

Planned layout..   New center console w/ digital electronics... trophy livewell, and comfy sleepers for the kids..

Watch as I get things rolling..   Any feedback along the way is greatly appreciated!!

So, I thought I got a good deal until I put her in the water for the first time.  Had power issues at higher RPM's.   Would bounce up and down by 400 to 600 rpms and throttle response was not good.

Little did I know that the nearest Suzuki dealer was over 5 hours away!  Time to buy a book and dig in..

Turned out to be high pressure fuel pump.  Sucks that the VST was mounted between the manifold and block.  ;(

So what are some good rule of thumbs for weight balance.  Where should the topside CG be placed wrt to the pontoons?

I'm sorta of concerned that it might be too heavy in the back.  First, it has a 115 HP which is heavier than standard, also I've put on a jack plate which is heavier and pushes out the outboard further aft by 5"
