Saturday was good. I went from Highland Marina to close to the dam looking for a white pontoon with CHILLIN on the side. Didn't see ya..... late evening around 5:30 - 6 ish.

Anyway, been lurking here since 2011 and decided to join. Followed your rebuild and .... it's looking good.

Had a great weekend at the lake...a little rain Thursday and Sunday...the pontoon did great, she will run about 23 mph with just me and the dog and sbout 19 mph totally loaded with 9 or so people....we all went to Highland Marina Saturday night for dinner...Viper2some we left Whitetail campgroiund (spots41 and 42) about 6:30 and were at Highland at 7:30 and stayed there until about 9:30 or so....we will be back at Whitetail spot 42 the weekend of June 22, so please come by and say hello...Everyone loved the boat, as you can see below the dog has taken over the Sundeck....The LED lights are great at night and the Sony radio is awesome....I believe Wal was right about the leaky gasket as I still have some oil coming out of cowling, also as low RPM the carbs seem to load up, so I will get some carb kits with floats and rebuild them....Moving all the weight forward has raised the motor up out of the water and with a heavy load aboard at WOT the prop seems to slip as it it barely in the water, the motor is already at its lowest position so I am not sure how to fix this, I am thinking of buying a 40 gallon fuel cell and mounting it at rear to add some weight...we went through about 50 gallons of fuel this weekend as she is a gas hog....enjoy the few photos, I was so excited having her in the water I forgot to get some good pictures but I will try and get some of her in action on the 22nd and repost!

Happy belated fathers day to all you cool dads....wanted to share with you guys what my twin girls got me...a small grill to keep on boat and a remote for my sony radio...we usually find a nice cove and throw the anchor and spend a lot of time just playing in the water...I think everybody is tired of getting in and out of water to change the song or turn it up some...not sure where I am going to mount it yet, but I want to do it by thursday as we are going back to lake this weekend....finally I got a cool present...LOL!!

Cool remote thingy. I assume it would be waterproof. Wouldn't you have to install it somewhere low  on the outside of your fence to be able to acsess it from the water........or am I just not getting it correct. Will this work with any sony stereo or just specific ones.

Missed you again, bro.

A friend had a new camper he wanted me to see so I hauled my boat with me to R Shaefer Heard. He came with me and I think I may have seen your camp site, but no peoples. There was a tube on the bank and no boat. Three ski boats further in. You gots a red truck with some writing on the rear window ? The next camper had a screened room thingy set up. Rode around Whitetail and didn't see your toon. Went out about 150yds and killed the engine to wait a while. Haha...heck that, it was too HOT.

Got there around 11:45am (<---- guessing) hoping to scarf a babaloney sammich ... and a cold one. LOL  (j/k) Carried your number with me when I left the house, but like the phone, I left it in my truck.

We goin link up one day. Bet the farm.

Yeah viper we were probaly in Stroud Creek or on a beach around Wedakke...I will shoot you a message next time we are going down....Heading to Panama City Saturday for a week, then I,m sure we will back at the lake....you had the right camp sites....the boat did great, in fact my buddy Jason that helped me on this rebuild sold his center console yesterday and bought a hurricane deck boat with a 150hp...so it looks like we have a new project to start! Love the sony remote!!

Thanks for so much info. I have a 73 Sylvan I am getting ready to restore. I understand if you don't want to say, but how much $ would you say you have in this project?

Thanks,

Rich

Total I probaly had about $5,000 in this project....but I went overboard in some areas....stainless hardware can eat you alive, that and those $50 runs to the hardware store...I could have done this alot cheaper, but I really got into the project, then said what the heck....but to get a comparable boat I would probaly end up spending around $12,000 or so IMO....I did do one a few years ago for alot cheaper, but the end result was no where near this nice....I priced out everything and overall you can't beat PS's prices for what you get....Hope this helps and good luck with your project....Trust me when I say you can do this, because I am an idiot with minimal skills at best!!!! Hey Keith, Did you get your remote installed yet? If so does the remote display read same as the stereo display......file names...songs...ect

The hand held remote that came with ours has no range so its in the glove box and prob where it will stay

Hello, your boat looks great by the way. I have been following along and love the white on white look for the fences and rails.

I am nearing my toon polishing work and noticed how good your looked. Can you tell me your process and what you used to get them to look that shiny?

How has the shine held up after a few lake trips?
