Yeah, I got this thing for $100 and the tin is in pretty bad shape.  That"s another project for another day.  Until then, I need to get the holes filled with silicone.

Shoot, for $100, I"d put up with it too . My neighbor wants $700 for his and I"d have to tear it down and move it myself - AND pull up the posts that are encased in concrete. Umm no thanks, I"ll just get the NT canopy for $500 thats longer, wider and taller  and not near as heavy to fool with. But that"s pretty cheap insurance for your seats and carpet though.

I bought it from my neighbor and he took it down and brought it over to my house.  The frame is worth much more than I paid and I"ll get some new tin and extend it to about 3 ft or so and come down the sides further.  My neighbors may not like it but until then I may throw a tarp over it.

Not soon enough   2 of my gauges have been back-ordered  .  May be another 2 to 3 weeks before I get everything.

What are you all using for furniture covers?  Where"s a good source for them?

good question Ken as I need to find a local uphostery shop and get quotes since NOBODY makes covers to fit the seats I have (and I suspect you have also) and it would save time during peak use without having to recover with the boat cover. So just start dialing local shops and get quotes.

My wife sews and she seems to think that she can make us some.  I just haven"t checked into the cost of the material.

My boat is under a canopy with side curtains all around. For what upholsterers in my area want for just recovering seats I expect the furniture covers will wind up costing more then the seats will brand new.  I found out around here even if I supply the material the price is still about the same as if I didn"t supply it at all. My canopy cost less then $600.00 & so far it is working just great.

If your wife can sew and has the right needles, then look at the vinyl PontoonStuff sells. I had got a roll 2 or 3 yrs ago and still have some somewhere.

Have any of you had any dealings with Boatersland?  I ordered my gauges from them back on the 3rd of April and I"ve still not received them.  2 of the 4 were backordered, but the other 2 should"ve already been here.

Never heard of them, but there"s only a couple of places I would ever order gauges from, maybe 3. Did you get a tracking number, have you contacted them?  Personally I don"t wait for backorders, I"d cancel and go with somebody else unless you"re really, really wanting these.

WCD: I spoke with them on the 14th and was told that the volt meter was on back order and they should receive it by the 26th, and they would go ahead and ship the other 3.  I contacted them again on the 21st after not receiving them and was told by another person that the other person was not aware of it but actually 2 gauges (the fuel and the volt gauges) were backordered and the other 2 gauges were not shipped as promised, but that she would ship them out "tomorrow because it was too late today", which meant that I should have received them by the 26th (yesterday) but I didn"t.  I emailed them last night asking for a tracking # for the ones she shipped.  If I don"t hear back or receive them today I"m going to cancel the order and order them somewhere else.

Who are the places you are comfortable with?

BPS, this one and cabela"s in that order. Although I might get the new set from my 2nd choice once I do some futher comparison but I"ve ordered from all 3 inclduing ebay with no issues although I"ve always liked BPS for reliability and easy return policy.

My current set is the Teleflex Sahara series which looks good on the creme custom console I have, but with PontoonStuff"s new deluxe console with that burl finish, I was seriously thining of going with the Teleflex Artic series but I"d like to have a set like that but with a stainless steel bezel which I noticed the Artic series doesn"t have, so still hadn"t bit the (current price of $190) at BPS for Tach, Water Presssure Guage, Volt, Fuel and OMC Trim. Seriously considering the Teleflex Lido series as it has the whte face and polished stainless steel bezels. Here"s Teleflex"s feature list for their gauges if it"ll help you with which style/model http://www.teleflexmarine.com/library/catalogs/usa-instrumen tation-09.pdf.

I wanted the Faria Kronos, but if I don"t get some satisfaction from Boatland today, I will change.  They seem to be the only ones that offer the 4 gauges that I wanted (even though they aren"t in stock).  I like the Teleflex Lido gauges also and Cabela's have a pretty good price on them.

WCD: how long have you used the Teleflex Sahara gauges?  Are you happy with them?

Capt: are you using teleflex gauges now?  If so, do they tend to fog?

I just spoke with Boatersland and they not only have not shipped the 2 gauges they had in stock, the 2 that were supposed to be in by the 26th have not come and and are now not expected until the 30th.  I cancelled the order.   I will probably order the Teleflex Lidos today from Cabella"s.

Most were on the custom console top piece I bought off ebay 3 yrs ago (thereabouts) but it wasn"t until Sept 2008 when scbadiver, I and PontoonStuff warehouse (had a lot of help from their staff, it was fun) staff rebuilt it and I got to use it. I had other Faria guages before that and some Telefex (it was a mix on the old console). Back then it was black face with white lights. Now I get either blue or red lights on the gauges (depends which set I get unless I change the bulbs) as I want those with LED bulbs. (auto stores have them in stock). I"ll be getting rid of the Sahara gauges this June when I take off scbadiver"s custom console he made for me.

Just ordered the gauges from Cabela"s.  Very friendly and helpful.  Will ship UPS today and I will have them, by the latest, May 5th (next Wednesday)

So the only thing missing is the OMC Trim gauge, I"m gonna have to go look myself as those do look good don"t they (and perfect for the wood burl dash). Think that model has the blue bulbs in them.

THX scbadiver.  I hope I like them.  I"ve only seen them on the web.

WCD: I just decided I didn"t really need a trim gauge.  The only thing it would do for me is take up space, which the layout of the console I have is very limiting as to space for gauges.

Here"s some better pics of my rebuild as of today....

I haven"t mounted the pedestal or the console yet.  I"m hoping to get that done this week.  Should have my other front 36 inch bench later this week also.  Then it"s just a matter of installing the steering, controls, gauges, radio, switches, power outlet, ignition, locator/gps and building a sundeck on the back.............   whewwww

Oh yeah......  vacuum the carpet.

Ken, I just ordered the same Lido series but added the OMC Trim unit to it. They should look fantastic on that new console dash panel.

Jason, if you install the 36 inch seats all the way to the curve in the fence, it leaves you about 12 inches between the seat and the gate.  You might consider 28 inch seats because the lean backs are 17 inches wide.

Have started on the console:  Got the steering and locator/gps installed:

I can see that the steering cable is going to be a real challenge; tight quarters inside the console.   Should have my gauges today  but my dash plates won't be ready until the end of the week  .

Moved into the shade and installed the radio.....

Gotta get a cover for it....
