It's not to bad, only in a few spots, but want to kill it now. What's the best way to get rid of it and then how do I keep it away ?   thanks !!!

spray on carpet cleaner and use a pressure washer ,I did and now I don't need to replace my carpet

I used a pressure washer to clean the green moss off my old carpet but too much pressure washing can eventually pull the carpet away from the boards. Be sure to keep the nozzle pretty far from your flooring.

As the others mentioned, a pressure washer works great.   Before I realized this, I used a long handled floor scrubbing brush and some laundry detergent.  It worked great, but it's far more work than the aforementioned method.
