Hello all!
I have been following this site for a long time and watching everyone else's projects come to life and decided it was time for my own story! My name is Cassie and I have been very excited to share my rebuild with everyone. I am doing it all myself with the exception of my friend chelsea and a pair of extra hands from time to time by my partner Kaycee. None of us have prior pontoon or boating knowledge. I do consider myself somewhat handy (for a girl) so I am just sort of winging it and learning as I go. I have done pretty well so far I would say, pretty worried about the electrical coming up on me. ![]() Her name is Eva lol and this is my second season (coming up) with her. We have had a lot of fun with her our first season but she needed a face lift, Pictures soon to come!!

Worked on the siding this weekend. That was way more time consuming than I thought it would be.
Me looking like a bum :s ![]() Max helping out :) ![]() Polishing all of these rails is going to take so much time. Does anyone have a better suggestion on how to get this done quicker? I used a kit I found at menards with a small dry compound with it but it takes so long. ![]() ![]() |

So there she is! Got a long way to go but now up to date with you guys on here.
I do have a couple of small questions... 1. about polishing the rails and what to use on how to make it easier and faster 2. I really would like to paint my rub rail black before I put it back on but I have no idea what paint to use..I feel like it will all just chip off. Any thoughts on that? 3. How do I rotate the pics that I post? most of these need rotated. I bought almost everything on Pontoonstuff on a black friday sale, saved about 500 bucks. Love this site. Thanks in advance for the advice on the rails! Hope everyone enjoys my post so far

Looks awesome Cassie!! I’m in the process of figuring out how to polish our fencing as well. Will let you know what we end up doing soon. Right now plan is to use the Napa Aluminum Brightener and see how it looks after...

Thank you!! I was using this dry compound but I think I may go with something like that, I feel like it would move a lot quicker. Let me know how yours turns out

Thanks for the reply Michael! Probably going to find time this weekend to finish up the rails, you're right spring is quickly approaching. I did post a question about a check list if you would like to check that out or if you have any good information for outboard preventative maintenance for spring before we launch! Thanks again Michael! |

Hello all!
A few things.. 1. polishing my rails sucks. lol it is taking a life time and I worked on it all weekend long (will upload pictures soon) they are almost done. Used Mac's aluminum and metal polish it to everyone. and it works wonders!! 2. Started, or planned to, start on my helm but running in to an issue with my steering wheel, can't get it off the drive shaft? I think it is called.. I have let it soak in silicone and liquid wrench spray, try tapping it with a hammer and having Kaycee pull.. it isn't budding. 3. I have no idea how to do any of the wiring work, I'm just going in blind and I'm so nervous. Any suggestions on this?? I need to get moving and I can not get it off

usually a good whack will get it off while someone pulls up... If not go to advanced auto or oreilly's and rent a puller...

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it! I will go pick one of these up after work, I feel like that should do that job. It's difficult to get leverage since it is already taken off the helm, so this should help. I ordered the wiring harness from here, I just don't know what connects where and how it all will end up working. I don't know how those wires will eventually connect to the battery? lol I just have no clue.

The harness has battery connections at the stern, stern light connection, then livewell connections then helm plug (for switches), easier to use their switches, then horn connection and bow lights. I hooked all mine up in my living room:)

Excellent, so it's mainly just a plug it in the respected spot and run it to the battery? I also bought the led cup holders and the lights under the seats.. does the harness come with those wires to be connected also?
Also are the gauges for the console I ordered supposed to come with a template to cut out? I never received one in mine

I had my own gauges. Turn yours upside down on a piece of paper trace the gauge and cut the paper inside the lines to leave room for screws.
Feed your extra lights to its own switch.... I had my own gauges but they should have a separate wiring harness from helm to engine. (ignition wires, gauge wires, etc. |

Glad the Mac's aluminum worked for you!! How's the wiring going? I actually just bought the kit off of PS and that's my next step too. Need to post pics of my fencing but surprisingly it went well......
