moved to off topic, as its not about a pontoon boat Wink. Interesting though that it appears to be a permanent mount except its missing the vent tube and a filler neck but has the sender unit mounted for monitoring fuel level at the console. Should take any standard marine fuel cap like this one at iboats

Do a google search for vented boat gas cap and check the results, you might find one more to your liking as far as price and shipping and also check wally world, some have them, some don't.

There should be NO cap on the tank if its a permanent mount tank, that's why we need to see your tank if that picture isn't yours. If it has the neck for a hose, then you need a hose and filler cap like this http://www.backtoboating.com/Scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=144  and there will be a separate smaller neck for a vent line, at the bottom of that link, you'll find vents or use one of the filler caps with attached vent for the hose.

this is what it looks like when it was hooked up , but it just did not look factory , it looked like somebody cut a whole in the top of the gas cap then mounted everything else , so i reall don't know how it came .

I can't tell a thing from that pic since it hides the critical part of the tank stuff - we need close up pics of the cap but mostly of the connections so not too close up but just of the areas of connections and what the present situation is of the cap area.

My tank before rework and cleanup.  20 gal alum sets in horseshoe at rear.  Large black hose is fill.  Smaller black hose next to it is vent.  Both pass through a recess set into the fence on the horseshoe for filling and venting when tied to the fuel dock.  Sorry no pic of the external recess.  Center is a manual visual indicator of fuel level and wires hooking to fuel indicator gauge on the console.  Small black hose across tank is supply line through a squeeze/primer bulb and fuel filter (clear with push to drain a sample) to the motor.  All came from the factory this way.  Hope this helps.

Definitely not factory. Looks like someone used a cap of sorts with an extension to a filler hose.

wow, thanks Rick for the blow up of the pic. Now I see the problem. Hummm jerryrigged unit. Is the filler neck gone? Any part of it left? I'm curious if that cap is just screwed on or glued on? Either way, I think I'd get another tank. I assume you some kind of trouble with that one right? Does fuel slosh out from that cap? Or leak around it when filling?

My Tracker had a tank mounted just like that, with no filler neck.  It was a permanent tank but open in back and had a standard screw on cap.  Can't remember if the cap was vented or it had a tank vent?

Yes, you would be fine just looking for vented gas caps and getting what you want. Might get 2 in case you ever forget it (unless it has the little chain on it to keep it from getting lost like on some mowers)

I have the exact same cap, and it is a vented cap as shown. If you were to lift the cap on it's hing and look you'll see an adjuster with a vent screen under it. Fact is I think this cap system may actually be superior in actual use a design myself and have never had a minutes problem with it, can't say the same about the more typical design I had on my previous boat though. More than once I has gas splash out of the clam-shell vent and run down the side of my panel... Angry

From the manufacture:

xxxx'z  new plastic vented deck fills incorporate an industry first patent-pending waterproof screen
that eliminates the possibility of water entering a boat’s fuel system, while also allowing your boat’s
engine to breath freely. These new deck fills exceed the ISO 10088 standard for minimum required
venting area and meet all ABYC and US Coat Guard safety standards for marine fuel
systems. Xxxxx's  unique design includes an integral tank vent with flame arrestor and anti-surge
technology.CE certified to ISO 10088 enabling sales world wide.

I guess the point is, were you having problems with that fuel fill arrangement? Leaks, etc

have'nt filled the tank up all the way yet , but were the hole was cut in the top of the gas cap i could see were it could leak gas sloshing around it was'nt a tight fit and possibly something could get in the gas , i would'nt mind using that setup if  i could find the right stuff for that setup
