My former coworker (he works Gas Dept while I worked IT for Town Of Smyrna) decided to go fishing on a 1987 Bass Tracker 16ft he bought from his next door neighbor for a grand. Boat has been garage kept all its life. Only needed a little electrical work on the motor and it was good to go, so we went today out an area called West Fork which is a feeder for Percy Priest lake in Smyrna, TN. At first we threw all kinds of spinner baits, jigs, crankbaits but NOTHING was hitting. I found a jar of GULP 1 inch minnows and decided to try them. I caught 10 fish bam, bam, bam. They were all small bream and bass but I didn't care. My buddy finally says, OK, you convinced me, hand me a fake minnow. Then we both started raking them in. Overall caught more than 20 and a few were keepers but we generally throw our fish back (as they say in Mexico, don't drink the water - well don't eat the fish here either) LOL.  No action shots today, but I did get a few pics.

Bream in bright sunlight I caught

Little bass I caught

Little area I was thrashing the fish at, can't see it but there are limbs all over in there.

My buddy Ricky unhooking a little bream he caught on a GULP 1 inch minnow

And Ricky showing off another, but he's still bad behind me in the count LOL

Nice!! Always good to get out on the water. And hey, as long as you're catchin' them, big or small, it's still fun..Thumbs Up

It sure looks like you guys had a nice day. The sun is shining, water appears calm, and you guys were catching fish. That's what it's all about! Wink

Actually the pics were just the calm before the storm, not more than an hour after that, winds picked up to 15-25. Gonna make it tough for the Navy Airmen putting on the Air Show in Smyrna Sat-Sun as we'll have storms rumbling in both days.
