Thanks guys, Smile

It looks a little funny sitting up there all alone on that empty deck.   But when the rest of the seating, coolers and storage is completed it won’t look so lonely LOL

To all of my friends on this forum,

Do to unforeseen health and family issues I have been forced to put my project on hold. Hard to say how long it’s going to be. Only God knows.  You guys have been great and I wish you all the best. Good luck with your projects.

I will probably check in from time to time if I can to see how everything is going.

Well thank God.  I’ve just received a clean bill of heath from the doctors and I’m going to start back on my rebuild project and see if I can get it completed.  I’m still a little weak but that hasn’t dampened my enthusiasm for this project.

Going to start fabricating the rear batter boxes/storage compartments.  It’s good to be back Wink     Dave

Well I was able to find a little time, and a little energy this weekend to get a couple of things done on my project.  I was able to build the side half’s of the battery boxes/storage boxes that are going to wrap around the back of the cutout on the rear on the deck.

I also installed the switch panel in the console.  Next step is, bolt down batter box half’s to the deck, cut panels and frame front sections of the batter boxes.   Close that all in then carpet it.  I know you all probably don’t have a clue what I’m talking about but I will post picks when done.  LOL

The boxes are going to mirror the cutout that’s in the center of the rear deck.  One batter will be on each side of the cutout and the center section will house the fresh water pump for the shower.  They are framed with ¾ 8th inch thick box aluminum.  Very strong, very light.  Hop you all had a good weekend.

Dave, I resized the pics to 800x600 (best for detailed viewing) and removed all formatting as it completely distorted the whole thread (nobody could see pics unless they slid bar to the right).  So more of a hint for others - Never use CENTER formatting except for TEXT Wink then turn if off before you upload pics. Nice small console, it looks like fiberglass. Thumbs Up

Good morning Shawn,

The battery tray is a single tray.  The framed box in the pic is just one side.  There is another one just like it that I made for the other side.  I uploaded a pic with the both of them put it didn’t post for some reason.

They’re going to go on each side of this cut out and closed in at the front and back.  WD it is a fiberglass console.

Well I finally found a little time to finish up the battery box/storage box.  It’s so hard to find the time, my life is to busy. LOL  It’s been so darn hot to and or raining so when I do find time it’s hard to get a whole lot done.

I put a good coat of Thompson's water seal on it and I’ll let that set up and soak in for a few days.  Then I have to sand all of the outside panels so the adhesive will set up good when I carpet it. A little progress. Hope I get my energy back soon. Wink

Looks real good and that aluminum frame should make it real tough. I like it keep up the good work. With the wood sealed and the carpet and glue that will last a long time.
