Hello everyone I am in the process of revamping my 1993 Sundancer Pontoon that I bought in 2009.  The boat is in Excellent condition except for the seats.  Here in Missouri we had a record 20in snowfall the first week of Feb and the weight of the snow plus ice and water it caused the cover to rest on my seats and proceed to tear them.

As of right now i have all the seats out and shampoo the carpet along with a ton of black mold that was hidden behind the seats.

I have purchased a whole new seating arrangement from this site and waiting patiently to install them.

This is the original way i bought it. Doesnt look bad for a 1993

1993 Sundancer 240D Limited Edition with a 75hp Mariner Outboard.

Previous owner is a former Marine so it was well taken care of.  All i need to do is figure out how to shine up the toons.  Any Suggestions?

Went to get an estimate to recover all the seats, cabinet and everything else and it was a heart attach waiting for $5100.  I purchased all new seats that will be 3 times lighter iin weight for less than 2500.

Hi Aquaholic and welcome.  Nice toon.   In the Tips and Tricks section there is a "cleaning toons" topic worth looking at.  For additional cleaning/shining the tubes, do a search on this form. There is a lot of data concerning this.  And lots of product out there that is available.  Looks like yours are in pretty good shape.  A good power washing and then some polishing would probably suffice.  For serious shining a product called Nuvite is preferred by some of our members.   It is also well covered on this forum.    Yes covering the old is not as good as the new.  Get rid of unnecessary weight! Wink

Starting this fall i am thinking about taking off the PINK Striping down the side and putting a shred decal all the way down both sides and then my Boat name in a cool design.  I have a friend here in MO that does the wraps and hopefully he can hook me up with some cool stuff.

Welcome Andy! Looks like a great project toon and real clean. You can really tell someone took good care of it. I had a 1990 200 FC model a few years back. They are some good toons and should give you years of fun on the water. The new furniture will definitely make it alot lighter and that will help alot. Looks like it's sitting on a newer trailer too. Keep the pics coming as you move along. And I think you're right about the Pink stripes..Wink

Welcome! In addition to the above comments, should you decide to proceed with the shine, I recommend using sharkhide or something similar to maintain the shine. It makes them alot easier to clean up later too!

Actually the trailer is also a 1993. The previous owner used it 2 times since 1993, once to back it in the water at the lake of the ozarks and again to take it out to sell it.  I was very lucky to find an older boat in such excellent condition.  I try to keep it that way but my drunk friends tend to get a little carried away.  My plans for the sides are to paint them cream colored and then have a rip or tear graphic down the sides so it looks like something torn the sides up.  I was thinking a burgandy or maroon color for inside the tear.

Got all the seats in now just to figure out how to mount the speakers and run the courtesy lights.  Need to order some replacement vinyl so i can cover my cabinet and be matching.  Found out the wood on the cabinet that holds the throttle is rotten and all needs to be replaced.  Always something needing to be replaced.

Rebuilt the cabinet for the throttle and it was harder than i thought but still looks good.  Attaching the finished pictures.  I found a perfect place to mount the 6x9 speakers i bought i took the opening of the armrests and fit the speakers in there.  They look like they were made for them.

Picture of one of the speakers

Up close pic of the speaker in the armrest

Everything completed but the courtesy lights

Anyone have any suggestions for courtesy lights that are cheap and will put out enough light for night floats?

Oh also i forgot but i noticed that the cup holders have a hole in them that would if anyone spilled or rain it would run right over the speaker.  This is my solution for it.

I attached a 1/4" hose to it then placed it back in the armrest and then drilled a small hole in the decking to place the hose in so that way it drained in the water.

Jefferson City is a nice area with a lot of boating oportunities within a couple hours driving, I spent a lot of time there back when I was a member of the Missouri Guard. I wish I had a dollar for every mile I traveled on highway 50 going to and from there between 1974 and 1995.

Well finally got the courtesy lights in.  Decided to use 6 1 in LED lights mounted on the bottom of the seat base.  I chose red so it sets a mood if i have a special person on board lol.  I also decided to mount just a single LED light above the speaker that i mounted in the armrest so it shines down on the speaker and lights it up.  I tried to take a pic of it by my iphone takes really bad pics.  I will try tonight with my digital camera and see if it is any better.  I am finally done with everything and now it is time to start river floating with friends and family.

I would also like to say that i am glad that I decided to buy the new seats from PS.com I had a armrest that was damaged in shipping and called and spoke with Courtney and he was able to get me a new one replaced in 4 days.  I will now buy all stuff pontoon from this site and have told all my friends that own pontoons about it.  Thank you to all of the staff at pontoonstuff.com
