Just getting started on this one.... and new to the forum so all advise sought! This is the before picture - not bad for 25 years old...

Demo day 1....vinyl was tired, flooring was toast, controls were original and on last legs.... time for a refresh

Breaking her down...

Furniture gone.....

Plywood removed....

Found some aluminum fatigued under the front c-beam so added a plate and new drill holes.

And we just got the new plywood on this past weekend.... replaced, and added additional cross beams near the back to replace the buckled ones (the shiny ones!). Even with thicker beams, and additional, still had some buckle under then transom when we took the support out  Angry

But the new flooring went on great - loved the self drilling screw connectors.

Decided to go with a new fence to add stern-entry option, and the pontoon furniture just arrived from pontoon stuff. Waiting on the vinyl flooring delivery and then we can start rebuilding.

Decided to go with teak effect vinyl weave - will start assembly as soon as that arrives.

Does any anyone have any advice on whether it's ok putting the 2x batteries inside the seats? Also looking at the best options to retain the fuel tank (see earlier pic) in an area behind rear bench seat, just inside fence? Perhaps build a custom enclosure - not sure where to place filler cap..... ideas?

Welcome to the forum!

Great looking boat you have there and you are well on your way.

1. For the batteries, sure!  I have a pair of group 24's under my seats.  I have mine in battery boxes for my own piece of mind that someone doesn't open the seat and possible toss something in there to arc across the terminals.  I did add a couple of vents in the front of the seat bottoms and I also house my battery switch as well as my two bank onboard charger as well.

2. Fuel tank, you can put that where ever.  Few things to keep in mind though:  Will I need to climb over my seats to fill the tank or remove/reinstall the tank?  Can you secure it down? How much fuel line will it take to get there and does that make sense?  Weight distribution and making sure the boat overall is balanced weight wise in the water.
