Wanted to share a new refurb project - 1994 Suntracker 32 Full 16' Cabin

I will place photos and remarks as I find issues... comment as you wish, there is nothing better than sharing your thoughts about things! I appreciate it and I'm sure we will all learn a bit more about our boats!!

Here is the 1994 16Ft enclosed Cabin Sun Tracker.

It seems there may have been a number of configurations available for this unit in the years 1988 to 2005 and possibly beyond... I have seen new units advertised in pamphlets and online. sleek looking and beautiful boats - at a hefty price which is sure to exceed $50 to $80k! No thanks! no more mortgages for this sailor!!Smile

This was Blockers rebuild ... same as mine.

I liked the overhang off of the front of the cabin... it partially protects the console (which is outside in this model (1994 and 1995 I believe).

The front and rear trapezoid windows in the front and rear of the cabin are found on this confoguration but I haven't seen them on any other configuration except this one.

The enclosed cabin is just about as large as it can be. It it were further aft, the back door would be right at the rear storage assembly just forward of the motor housing... preventing exiting. As it is there is only about 1.5 to 2 feet of floor space outside the back door which is basically the start of the motor housing area.

If the cabin were extended forward any further it would need to hold the console but... would add way too much weight forward ... requiring adding a third pontoon to keep the nose out of the water.

I have seen photos of one of these with the cabin roof extending all the way aft to the rear rails, covering the entire aft deck - which in my opinion is waaaaay too cool, but a bit of a loss as there isn't much real deck space outside the back door.

You can see here that the cowling around the engine, the gas tank (starboard aft under the aluminum access door in the top of the photo) and water storage or Generator area (port aft near the pliers in this photo) is within a foot or so of the sliding door at the rear of the cabin.

There is just enough room outside the door to turn the corner to gain access to the roof ladder. However the area back there is awesome for sitting up on the cowling with your back leaning against the Cabin wall next to the sliding door with a good book and a cup of coffee!

There is another aluminum access panel under the pliers and teak treatment here from another photo posted here on the forum.

More Later!!!
