I was also able to run the wiring and hook up the front nav lights and docking lights as well. The old lights were square and mounted about 8" closer to the center on each side, obviously I went in a different direction. Amazingly enough, when I plugged in the wiring harness to all of my wiring in the console it all worked. So far anyway. I also hooked up my brand new oogah horn! Nice and annoying!!!  |

Thanks guys, I appreciate the positive feedback! It has been an experience. I am happy I am nearing the point I can get it on the water. Last night, I cut out the 6x9's in the lounge seat bases and mounted all of those seats. Tonight, I plan to see what I can find to hard pipe the drain from the built in cooler seat. I want to pipe straight into it and out the floor with a shut-off valve before I mount it.

I'm loving your layout and the small speaker boxes in the front.
 I may have to copy your layout next winter, the front office is not liking the original Lowe sundeck set up and wants seats in the back like yours. I on the other hand think I should've went with the flip-flop seat behind the console like you did, more storage and a wider seat for my wider seat.

This is what I did for the drain in the flip seat cooler. I snapped a pic before I cleaned because I was running out of light. You can also see the 4x6 that I used as a spacer to move my console and seat out from the railing. There was previously a storage box for rods here, but I decided not to do that. The folding ladder fits in there perfectly. I think I am going to have to find something to secure it so it doesn't rattle though. All of the seats are secure now!

IT FLOATS!!!! and it runs!!!
I stayed up until midnight Saturday, so I could finish all the little things to get it on the water Sunday. I launched it without a problem, it floated, started right up and ran like a champ, with the exception of stalling because I have the idle set too low. Not sure how fast it is, I guess I will need to download an app to track the speed, but it is fast enough. It actually gets up and goes pretty well. Runs through the chop like a dream. Spent the day fishing, it started out could and windy and ended up HOT and windy. I got a little burnt. My son caught 2 bass and decided they were way more fun to catch than trout. I guess a fish finder and trolling motor is going to be added soon. I got skunked, which is not unusual. Got it back on the trailer on my second shot, took her home and cleaned her up for next weekend.
I still have some work to do, to be finished, but I have to say it was the most enjoyable time I have ever had on any of my boats!

Looks great glad to hear you had a great voyage.
And ya got a couple of lil bass, made for an even better day. Now I really feeling the 'toon time pains. Took the day off to finish up the house projects for the refi inspection and see post like this  !You guys are killing me!  No really I'm happy for ya at least someone is getting to enjoy their 'toon. |

I have a tach but haven't hooked it up yet. I am not quite sure where the wire hooks up on the motor. For now, I will use my well tuned ear! |

It should be a green wire at your controller. I have a pdf wiring diagram if you want it.
A tach makes sure you are propped right. I would hate for your motor to be lugging and shortening it's life.  I have a tif of the diagram i could post here but looks like crud. Pm me if you want the pdf.

Thanks guys! I still have a few minor things to do like install the lids on my storage boxes, install the bimini and ladder. I am sure there are a few other things that I am forgetting but for the most part she is done (usable anyway) and just in time for my son's 18th b-day this weekend at the river (colorado) in Parker, AZ.
On another note, I noticed that I had some small, wet spots on the carpet when we were out. When we got out of the water I looked and saw that they were on the cross members where the plywood butted together. I installed the sealant tape on all of them but it looks like there is still moisture getting in there somehow. Is this normal or should I do something to seal it better? I was thinking of using what we in the AC biz call pookie tape. When I worked on diesel trucks/trailers we called it 100 mph tape. Basically some 3" tape with sticky sealant on one side and foil on the other. Maybe seal them with Henry's or something. Not sure if this is a big deal or not, but I am assuming if they send tape with the decking kit, it just may be.
Curtis ~ I got in touch with the guy who sold me the engine and he said that the wire from the tach should be hooked up to either of the wires coming off the stator. I will try that to night and if that doesn't work I will get that pdf from you. Thanks.

Yep green wire off the stator should run all the way through the main wiring harness to the console.
let me know if you need some help I went through electical wiring *inappropriate language not permitted* last year!

A lot of pontoons will leak water through the seams....this is not uncommon...I used the spray sealant (from TV)...this fixed most of my minor leaks....I have a buddy that caluked his, which worked as well!

The blue panels look good! I am rebuilding a 94 - 24ft Grumman and I need to replace some of the aluminum panels and am planning to wrap them. Did you remove any of your old panels?

Thanks, and yes I did remove the old panel. My rails have the dreaded extruded lip and I beat the paneling out with a hammer and then spread the lips with a small scraper. With a lot of patience, cussing and lube I was able to slide the new panels into place, then bent the lip back over with a rubber mallet. I didn't use any type of gasket material. A lot of guys suggest using a thin weather stripping and I believe the OEM's do the same. Actually, there was some of that inside my lip and in the way when I slid the new panels in. I was planning on using silicone to help with any vibration noise, but haven't yet and don't notice any rattling, so I may not need to. I also used stainless screws in the upright railings to secure the siding.

Some pictures from our river trip last weekend. It wasn't real warm, but it was OK. The water was FRIGID!!! Still had a great time and the toon ran great. We cruised up and down the river a few times, took it out both Friday and Saturday night for some fishing and fun, then took it up to the sandbar Saturday afternoon. The only time I worried was when the first tank ran dry. I was like, Oh No!!! What happened to my motor? Then, I realized we were out of gas and announced it, which sent everyone else into a panic. I had to quickly put their minds to rest and let them know we had a 2nd tank.
Needless to say, we all LOVE the toon!!!
 Oh, and I heard a lot of people getting a laugh from her name!  Side note, it does float but the port log has a leak. After 2 and a half days in the water, it had about a gallon of water in it. Guess I am going to have to build me a pressure tester!
